Applications are currently being accepted for the 2019 Alexander County Commissioners’ Choice Awards. These awards are bestowed by the Alexander County Board of Commissioners and the N.C. Cooperative Extension – Alexander County Center to recognize individual volunteers, organizations, communities, and others for their hard work and dedication to the community.
Award nominations can include, but are not limited to, school classroom volunteers, school PTO boards, church volunteer groups, civic clubs, high school clubs, scouts, 4-H clubs, and many others.
The most outstanding adult and youth volunteer organizations will receive monetary awards of $200 each. Other monetary awards will be given for second place ($125), and third place ($75) in both the adult and youth categories.
In addition, there is a “Community Spark” award to recognize an outstanding individual who has made a significant contribution to an organization. Out-of-county judges will be secured for judging the applications.
Awards will be presented at the Commissioners’ Choice Awards Banquet on Monday, April 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at Alexander Central High School.

Please include at least one picture and a color logo to feature your organization on awards night via a PowerPoint slide presentation.
