The North Wilkesboro Police Department seized nearly a pound of methamphetamine on October 31st.
An Officer stopped a 2005 Dodge Ram pickup on N.C. 18 North near the Sunset Drive intersection because the vehicle had an expired registration plate and an expired safety inspection.
The driver was Thomas Ray Bowlin, 42, of Congo Road, North Wilkesboro. Some 393 grams of methamphetamine, eight dosage units of Buprenorphine, a .32-caliber handgun and paraphernalia, including scales and plastic baggies was confiscated.
Bowlin is charged with two counts of trafficking in methamphetamine and one count each of conspiracy to traffic in methamphetamine, possession to sell and deliver methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by convicted felon, possession of a firearm with a removed serial number, maintaining a vehicle for sale of methamphetamine , possession of a schedule III controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, displaying expired registration, expired vehicle registration and driving while license revoked.
Bowlin was placed in the Wilkes County Jail under a $75,000 secure bond.
