Alexander County Woman Arrested After Missing Court Date

Brittany Leigh Ann Burks, age 34 of Stony Point was taken into custody on Friday after being served failure to appear warrants. She missed a court date on charges of making a false police report, resisting, delaying, obstructing an officer and possession of a weapon (knife) by an inmate. Burks remains in custody as of earlier today with bond set at $5,000.

A charge of assault with a deadly weapon is also pending.
