Patience paid off following a potentially dangerous standoff Sunday night in Alexander County.
Alexander County Deputies responded to a residence off Caldwell Pond Road in the Ellendale Community around 8pm. A male subject was in the dwelling along with a female and two juveniles.
Alexander County Sheriff Chad Pennell said on Monday that threats were made and the subject was armed and intoxicated. The Caldwell County Swat Team responded. No shots were fired and no injuries were sustained. The female and juveniles were allowed to leave the residence. Sheriff Pennell says the decision was made to pull-back after the woman and juveniles were confirmed to be safe.
Warrants were issued for 54-year-old Henry Arthur Prado who lived at the Caldwell Pond location. Pennell says he made the decision to defuse the situation after communicating with the subject.On Monday, Prado surrendered to the Alexander County Detention Center. He’s charged with assault by pointing a gun and communicating threats. Prado was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center under a secured bond of $25,000.
