Alexander Rescue Squad had the opportunity to send members to participate in the Catawba Flood and Land Search Exercise this weekend in Burke and Caldwell Counties.
Rescue Squad members were able to exercise deploying to an area and conducting a wide area search including dynamic and static water rescue, land search, wilderness rope rescue, incident management, and serve as evaluators. Members were able to learn and exercise new technology in search and rescue as well as work with other teams learning from various experiences. Alexander Rescue located all 50 of their simulated victims and performed two simulated rope rescues covering over 39 miles of water and land.
