Alexander County Records COVID-19 Associated Death For Second-Straight Week

January 19, 2023 By Richard C. Gilbert

The Alexander County Health Department has confirmed a COVID-19 associated death in the last seven days.

Like some areas of North Carolina, CDC considers Alexander County to be a high transmission area for Covid-19 at this time.  Please remember to wash your hands frequently; get tested if you develop symptoms or are a close contact of someone who has developed symptoms; stay home for at least 5 days and wear a mask around others for 10 days if you test positive; wear a well-fitting mask indoors when transmission rates are high; and get/stay up-to-date on your eligible Covid-19 vaccination doses in order to help continue reducing the virus’ spread.  Learn more about CDC recommendations for our area transmission level at https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/?fbclid=IwAR23aiQEQViBRpMSilQDlF7UgD04hzPcHaHacuErlSCnwzC65jJXRTybyq8#county-view?list_select_state=North+Carolina&data-type=CommunityLevels&null=CommunityLevels&list_select_county=37003.
