Alexander County Man Served Warrant

A Taylorsville man was detained after being served a warrant on Thursday. 28-year-old Joao Victor Dos-Passos is charged with malicious conduct by a prisoner. The indictment dates to September, 2024 when he was arrested by the NC Highway Patrol. He was charged then with felony injury by vehicle, reckless driving with wanton disregard, driving while impaired and driving with license revoked. Dos-Passos allegedly spat on an officer during the intake process. He remains in the Alexander County Detention Center under a $75,000 secured bond. A March 17th court date is scheduled.
