Alexander County Man Is Back In Jail

Jeffrey Lynn Mays Jr, age 45 of Taylorsville was arrested on Wednesday by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office. He’s been charged with felony possession of schedule II controlled substance, possession of schedule IV controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mays is being held without bond in the Alexander County Detention Center.

Mays has a long list of previous charges that include felony common law robbery, accessory after the fact of common law robbery, felony probation violations, felony possession of schedule I controlled substance, felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of schedule IV controlled substance and driving with license revoked.

In Surry County, Mays awaits trial for felony breaking and entering, felony larceny of a motor vehicle, felony larceny of a firearm and injury to personal property.
