Alexander County Jail Inmates Now Facing Felony Drug Charges In Iredell County

A man and woman already in Alexander County custody have been charged with felony drug offenses in Iredell County.

The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office announced on Thursday that charges have been filed against 7 individuals for trafficking methamphetamine. Included are:

Payton Rose Schwantes, age 28 of Stony Point, was arrested November 12th by Alexander County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and charged with felony trafficking methamphetamine, felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver controlled substance and felony maintaining a vehicle or place for controlled substance.

Schwantes has now been charged in Iredell County with felony conspiracy to manufacture/sell/deliver methamphetamine and is being held under a $275,000 secured bond.

Cody James Matheson, age 32 of Hiddenite has been charged by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office and charged with felony conspiracy to manufacture/sell/deliver methamphetamine.

Matheson was taken into custody on October 21st by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office and Taylorsville Police. He was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Total bond for Matheson is now $480,000.

Schwantes and Matheson have remained in the Alexander County Detention Center since their arrests.

Charged in connection with the Iredell County investigation is 35-year old Brandy Lynn Miller of Stony Point. She remains at large and is wanted for conspiracy to manufacture/sell/deliver methamphetamine. If you have information on the location of Miller, please contact the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
