Alexander County Deputies Nab Two Men Attempting To Steal Rocks

Two men are facing charges after being arrested at the Dusty Ridge Acces area along Lake Hickory in Alexander County on Friday, February 16th. The duo was spotted attempting to pilfer rocks from the landscaping along the shore.

44-year old Elliot Ray Adkins of Taylorsville is charged with misdemeanor larceny. He has been released with a bond of $2,000. Adkins was scheduled to appear in Alexander County District Court on Monday.

50-year old Derek Allen Wilson of Claremont was also charged with larceny. In addition, he’s charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, simple possession of schedule VI controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. As of earlier today, Wilson remains in the Alexander County Detention Center under a secured bond of $25,000. After making an initial court appearance on Monday in Taylorsville, his next court date is March 11th.
