Alexander County Deputies Nab Claremont Man After Traffic Stop

As the result of a Monday evening traffic stop, Alexander Deputies arrested a Claremont man.

Rickey Lee Bowman, age 51, was stopped on US Highway 64. He was sighted by Deputies throwing objects out of his vehicle before being stopped. Bowman is charged with felony possession of fentanyl, felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of schedule III controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, littering and driving with license revoked. After his arrest, Bowman was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center under a secured bond of $50,000.

Charges against the suspect are pending in Catawba County for driving with license revoked and reckless driving to endanger. A driving while license revoked charge is also awaiting trial in Iredell County.
