A man and a woman have been arrested in Alexander County following what Sheriff Chad Pennell is calling a “Drive-By-Shooting.”
At 1:52 pm on Wednesday, Alexander County 911 took a call concerning shots being fired into a residence off Mallory Lane, south of Taylorsville. Deputies from the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene where multiple shots had been fired into a home. The residence was occupied by a number of people. There were no injuries reported. A description of a vehicle was developed leading to a pair of suspects being arrested at a location on Owen Braswell Road.
Davante Lee McCullough, age 22 of Granite Falls is charged with felony discharging a firearm into occupied property. He is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center without bond. McCullough is scheduled to make an initial court appearance on Monday, May 20th in Alexander County District Court. 29-year old Amber Breann Thorton of Wilkesboro is charged with felony discharging a firearm into occupied property. She is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center without bond. Thorton is also scheduled for a Monday court appearance.Photos: Alexander County Sheriff’s Office
Update: Both suspects remain in custody after an appearance before a judge on Thursday. Bonds for both were set at $25,000.
Sheriff Chad Pennell said Thursday afternoon that the investigation is very active but would not comment on a possible motive.
