Alexander County Deputies Arrest Hiddenite Man

The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office arrested 42-year-old Barry Dean Thorneburg of Hiddenite on New Years Day. He was charged with violating a domestic violence protection order, felony probation violation and obstructing and delaying law enforcement. The suspect was also served active warrants from Iredell County for fraud and obtaining property by false pretense. As of earlier today, Thorneburg remains in the Alexander County Detention Center without bond.

Thorneburg is serving a 12 month suspended sentence from Alexander County for violating a pair of domestic violence protection orders. The suspended sentence was issued in December, 2024.
