There were five new cases of COVID-19 reported in Alexander County on Friday according to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
4,265 cases have been counted since the beginning of the pandemic with 85 deaths associated with the COVID-19 virus.
As of 5pm Friday, 10 Alexander County citizens were hospitalized with COVID-19 symptoms.
