Alexander County COVID-19 Update

As of 5pm Friday

5 new cases

4,080 since the beginning of the pandemic. The first case reported in Alexander County was March 28th, 2020. The County has recorded 78 cases in the past 14 days and 55 cases in the past seven (7) days.

10 people hospitalized

84 deaths, no change since March 1st

For the week of March 29, the health department is scheduled to receive 600 first doses and Peoples Drug Store is to receive 200 first doses.

On March 31, North Carolina and Alexander County will open COVID-19 vaccination to all of Group 4, including all essential workers.

Beginning April 7, vaccination will be open to all adults.
