Alexander County Couple Charged With Felony intentional Child Abuse

An couple from Alexander County has been charged with intentionally abusing a child.

The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office was notified by officials at the Brenner Children’s Hospital in Winston-Salem that they were treating a child under age of five that had been transferred from another medical facility due to the severity of the victim’s injuries. Deputies began an investigation and filed charges on Thursday.

24-year-old Kuwain Deshay Moore of Taylorsville is facing two-counts of felony intentional child abuse. Moore is reported to be the victim’s father. He’s being held under a $300,000 secured bond in the County Detention Center with first court appearance scheduled for Monday, January 27th.

26-year-old Chayanne Livingston of Taylorsville is charged with a single count of felony intentional child abuse. She is not the mother of the victim and is being held in custody under a secured bond of $200,000. Livingston is scheduled for court on Monday.
