Get involved in elections and become a hero for democracy. The Alexander County Board of Elections encourages local residents to attend an information session about becoming a Precinct Official on Monday, July 29 at 6:00 p.m. at the Taylorsville Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall (75 2nd Street SW, Taylorsville). This information session will provide answers to questions for anyone who has an interest in working as a precinct official.
At the information session, Alexander County Board of Elections staff will provide an overview of the roles, duties, and assignments of precinct officials during early voting and on election day. Staff will also explain some of the equipment and processes that ensure that elections are accurate and secure. There is no commitment – come learn about how you can help Alexander County citizens vote.
Precinct officials get the opportunity to learn about the election process, help their community vote, and get paid in the process. These democracy heroes operate the polls during early voting and election day by providing services such as checking in voters, processing ballots, and securing the voting site at the end of the day.
