Alexander Central 50 Cox Mill 37
The Lady Cougars stormed back from a 31-25 deficit at the half and advanced on the opening night of the State Playoffs. They rolled over the visitors 25-6 after the break.
Cox Mill committed 25 turnovers and the Lady Cougars were 16 of 20 from the free-throw line.
Meredith Wike paced the Lady Cougar scoring with 25 points including 8 of 9 from the charity stripe.
The win improves ACHS to 20-7 on the season.
They will advance to play at #4 seed North Meck who defeated McDowell 67-38. The game will be played Thursday night.
Men
Sun Valley 56 Alexander Central 35
Sun Valley never trailed and rode the 37 points from Kaelan Marsh to the opening round win in Taylorsville. Marsh made 11 of 22 three-point baskets to lead the visitors to the win.
Senior Avery Cook, playing his final game for Alexander Central led the Blue and Gold scoring with 11.
Sun Valley wins their 6th straight game and is 16-11.
The Cougars conclude the season at 18-8.
