Alexander Central Turf And Track Project At Critical Point

August 6, 2024 By Richard C. Gilbert

A major step in the turf and track project at Alexander Central’s Cougar Stadium is underway today.

The crew is working on what is referred to as a “stabilization process.” This is an effort to get the soil as dry as possible before the project can reach the next phase. A highly concentrated lime is being applied which will reduce moisture.

Of course what is now tropical storm Debby might be a factor if it drops a large amount of rain on Alexander County later in the week.

The Cougar Football Team is scheduled for their 2024 opener on August 23rd when they host Statesville.
