Alexander Central Takes Title !

Alexander Central capped an dominant run to win the annual Catawba Valley Easter Baseball Classic Wednesday night in Newton.

The Cougars dispatched Newton Conover 10-0 behind Caleb Williams’s one-hit shutout. Williams struck-out 16 Red Devils. Williams went 3-4 at the plate with 3 runs batted in. Nathan Pope,Jarret Hoppes and Sawyer Chapman Mayes had three hits each as the Blue and Gold out-hit Newton Conover 16-1.

Alexander Central was seeded fourth and steamrolled the event outscoring the opposition 39-8 in the 3 games. ACHS is in the midst of an 11 game winning streak and 15-4 for the season.
