Lenoir: The Lady Cougars lost their third-straight conference game despite improved shooting, a 35-29 advantage on the boards and outscoring the home team 20-12 in the paint.
Hibriten jumped out to a 14-7 lead after the opening period and held a 38-36 lead at half. AC was up 50-42 after three quarters but were outscored 21-7 in the final period. Aamori Patterson led the Lady Panthers (12-6, 2-2) with 20 points. Malayah Adams was the leading scorer for ACHS with 18. Meredith Wike added 16 and 10 rebounds, Addie Jack went 3-4 from behind the arc and contributed 10 points. The Lady Cougars drop to 10-7 and 1-3 in Northwestern Conference play
Varsity Men
Alexander Central 62 Hibriten 44
Another big night for Jayon Connor who scored 33 points and pulled down 12 rebounds. The Cougars never trailed and led 21-7 after the first quarter. AC controlled the boards 41-17. Hibriten (3-15, 0-4) was paced by Damarion Gaither with 13 points. Alexander Central is now 9-8 and 3-1 in league play.
