Taylorsville: For the second time this season, Alexander Central’s Basketball teams swept South Iredell.
Varsity Women
Alexander Central 63 South Iredell 47
The Lady Cougars led by as many as 29 points in the second half enroute to the win.
Taylor Roseman led the balanced scoring with 11, Meredith Wike had 10. A dozen Alexander Central players played and eleven scored. AC’s bench out-paced South 37-9.
Kayden Johnson poured in 28 for the Lady Vikings.
Alexander Central is 10-0 while South falls to 2-7.
Varsity Men
Alexander Central 66 South Iredell 27
The Cougars never trailed and dominated. The Blue and Gold stormed out to a 30-9 lead after the first quarter and led 44-13 at half.
Four Cougars scored in double figures led by Jayon Connor’s 14. Garison Millsaps tallied 13, Chad Lasher and Carter Fortner each had 10.
South was led by Riley Campe with 9.
ACHS is 5-5, South plunges to 1-8.
