Alexander Central Men Will Play For League Title, Lady Cougars Lose

Alexander Central 64 Hibriten 52

The Cougars won a game that featured 10 lead changes. Hibriten led 25-24 at the half.

Chad Lasher led AC with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Grayson Presnell added 15 and Avery Cook 11 for the Cougars. Jay Willis topped the Panther scoring with 18.

ACHS out-rebounded Hibriten 30-19. The Blue and Gold was 17-21 from the free-throw line. AC (17-7) will play in the championship game against South Caldwell who shocked top seed Freedom.

Varsity Women

Hibriten 54 Alexander Central 44

The top seed Hibriten controlled the semi-final. Freshman Meredith Wike led the Lady Cougars with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Katie Story had 20 to pace the Lady Panthers. With the loss Alexander Central is 19-7, Hibriten (22-3) will battle Watauga for the championship.
