Alexander Central Basketball Takes 3 of 4 Against South Iredell

Taylorsville: A fast start and the Lady Cougars are 3-0.

Alexander Central was up 21-2 after the first quarter Wednesday night in a 66-38 romp over South Iredell. Ava Head led AC with 15 points (5 of 10 from behind the three-point arc) and Meredith Wike chipped in 14 and 8 rebounds. Ten Lady Cougars registered points. Destiny Bradford had 12 points to lead South Iredell who falls to 0-4.

Varsity Men

Alexander Central 71 South Iredell 44

The Cougars used a quick start in earning their first win of the season. AC led 20-8 after the first quarter and 37-14 at the half. Jayon Connor continued his early-season exploits with 25 points and 9 rebounds. Jaheim Redmond added 14 pts, 8 assists and 7 rebounds. ACHS had 10 players to score in the game. South Iredell (1-3) was paced by Kobe Richardson with 19. Alexander Central is now 1-2 on the season.
