Taylorsville: Alexander Central stepped out of conference on Wednesday and beat West Rowan at Bob Gryder Stadium.
AC scored the games only three runs in the first inning and rode the arms of sophomores Dillon Church who got the win and Carter Bowman who earned the save. Bowman struck out 5 of the 7 batters he faced. The duo allowed West Rowan only 4 hits.
Bubba Pope, Koa Mikeal and Wade Queen paced the Cougars with runs batted in. Jaret Hoppes had two hits and scored a run.
Alexander Central improves to 10-11 while the loss puts West Rowan at 16-7.
