NC Highway 16 is blocked south of Taylorsville.
A crash with multiple injuries has shut-down the busy highway near the Alexander County Fairgrounds.
Reports indicate the crash was the result of a Law Enforcement chase. A suspect vehicle crashed and struck a utility pole across from the fairgrounds entrance.
At least one person has been airlifted from the scene and taken to a regional medical facility.
Detours are in place at Macedonia Church Road and Millersville Road.
