On Tuesday, November 22, Investigators with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division along with Special Agents from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations (NCSBI) and the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office SERT Team executed a search warrant at 1320 Yadkin Street in west Statesville. There, they arrested 30-year old Dionte Maurice Carroll of Statesville and Aaron Markel Carroll, age 33 of Winston Salem.
Beginning in October, Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigators and an NCSBI Special Agent began making undercover purchases of Crystal Methamphetamine at the location. Undercover agents purchased a total of 2.1 pounds of Crystal Methamphetamine from the two suspects on five separate occasions.
When the warrant was executed, 1.6 pounds of Crystal Methamphetamine, 16.2 Grams of Fentanyl (which is enough to kill over 4,000 people), 16.8 Grams of Ecstasy, 300.4 Grams of Marijuana, and over $85,000 in cash was seized. Investigators also impounded a vehicle used to deliver narcotics during one of the undercover purchases.
Aaron Markel Carroll was charged with Two Counts of Felony Trafficking by Possession, Felony Trafficking by Sell, Felony Trafficking by Transportation, Felony Trafficking by Delivery, Two Counts of Felony Trafficking or Possession within 1,000 Feet of a School, and Two Counts of Felony Conspiracy. He is being held in the Iredell County Detention Center with a secured bond of $3.2 million. Dionte Carroll was arrested and charged with Five Counts of Felony Trafficking by Possession, Four Counts of Felony Trafficking by Sell, Four Counts of Felony Trafficking by Transportation, Four Counts of Felony Trafficking by Delivery, Five Counts of Felony Trafficking or Possession within 1,000 Feet of a School, Two Counts of Felony Conspiracy and Felony Trafficking Fentanyl.
