A pair of suspects are now in custody and a third is being sought in connection with a fatal shooting last week in Statesville.
On Wednesday, March 15, at approximately 10:01pm, the Statesville Police Department responded to a call for shots fired on Goldsboro Avenue. Officers arrived on scene and located subjects advising that subjects in the house had been shot. Upon entering the residence, officers located Zion Wilder, 19 of Statesville, deceased on the floor from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. A second victim, a 15-year-old male from Statesville, was also located inside the residence suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
On Friday, Statesville Police say US Federal Marshalls arrested Tevin D. Seymore of Statesville in Charleston, WV. Seymore is being held without bond and is awaiting extradition back to Iredell County on the counts of Murder, Attempted Murder, Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling, Felony Conspiracy, Assault with 22a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury and Possession of Firearm by Felon. On Saturday, 25-year old Dakota Michael Duke was arrested by Statesville Police Officers and charged with Murder, Attempted Murder, Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling, Felony Conspiracy, Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury, and Possession of Firearm by Felon. Duke is currently being held in the Iredell County Jail with no bond. A third suspect, 22-year old Javis Black of Statesville remains at large.Photos: Statesville Police Department
