Hickory Police And Catawba County Sheriff’s Office Asking For Assistance

Since September 4, 2018, Hickory Police Department and Catawba County Sheriff’s
Office have responded to four separate incidents of armed robbery that are believed to have been committed by the same suspect. In each incident the suspect enters the businesses, produces a handgun, orders employee(s) to open cash drawers or safes and after obtaining money flees on foot. The suspect is a Black male, slim build, approximately 5’7” to 6’, wearing dark colored clothing. In each incident the suspect appears to be wearing black colored shoes with white soles.

Additionally, the suspect utilizes various items to cover his face during each incident.

Armed Robbery – Walgreens – 2427 Springs Road NE

On Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at approximately 9:37 P.M., Hickory Police responded to
Walgreens located at 2427 Springs Road NE reference an armed robbery. During the robbery,
the suspect entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded money. After obtaining an
undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled the property on foot heading west on 24 th
Street NE. The suspect is described as being a thin build Black male, approximately 6-foot-tall, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, and dark shoes.

Armed Robbery – CVS Pharmacy – 1504 2nd Street NE

On Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at approximately 11:28 P.M., Hickory Police responded to CVS Pharmacy located at 1504 2 nd Street NE reference an armed robbery. During the robbery, the suspect entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded money. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled the property. The suspect is described as being a Black male, approximately 5’7”, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, and black and white shoes. Additionally, the suspect utilized a gray cloth to cover his face.

Armed Robbery – Dollar General – 4796 Riverbend Rd, Conover

On Saturday, November 3, 2018 at approximately 9:48 P.M., Catawba County Sheriff’s Officer responded to Dollar General located at 4796 Riverbend Rd, Conover reference an armed robbery. During the robbery, the suspect entered the business, produced a pistol and ordered a cashiers to open safe and cash drawers. The suspect fled the property on foot. The suspect is described as being a Black male, late 20s-early 30s, approximately 5’5”, wearing dark pants, dark jacket, tan or grey toboggan and black shoes with white soles.

Armed Robbery – Dollar General – 901 Lenoir Rhyne Blvd SE

On Monday, November 5, 2018 at approximately 8:45 P.M., Hickory Police responded to Dollar General located at 901 Lenoir Rhyne Blvd SE reference an armed robbery. During the robbery, the suspect entered the store, displayed a handgun and obtained an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect fled the property on foot. The suspect is described as being a Black male, approximately 5’10”, wearing a toboggan, dark hoodie or jacket and dark pants. Additionally, the suspect utilized an object to partially cover his face.
