Vale– On Saturday, April 19, at approximately 5:20 a.m., the NC State Highway Patrol responded to and investigated a fatal collision in Lincoln County on Reepsville Road near Lewis Road. A 2002 Mitsubishi Endeavor traveling west on Reepsville Road drove off the right side of the road, drove back onto the roadway, crossed the center line, traveled off the left side of the road, became airborne, and struck a tree.
The driver, Tiffany Lashae Reynolds, 26, of Vale, succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
During the on-scene investigation, Reepsville Road was closed in the area for approximately one hour. The initial investigation indicates that excessive speed was the contributing circumstance in the collision.
