Claremont Police on Thursday charged a woman on a felony offense. 51-year-old Molly Jean Newton of Columbia, Tennessee faces a felony count of money laundering. The charges involve over $25,000. Newton is being held in the Catawba County Detention Center. Bond is set at $35,000. Newton was scheduled to make a court appearance on Thursday.
