The Wittenburg Swim Beach will be closed today (Thursday, August 20), as water test results received this morning show that bacteria levels remain above those considered safe under Duke Energy’s water quality guidelines. Additional water samples will continue to be collected and tested. The swim beach will reopen as soon as bacteria levels return to a safe range.
