On Friday morning, March 1, 2019, after two seasons at the helm of the Lady Cougar Basketball program, Alexander Central Varsity Women’s Head Coach Jonathan Winkler has announced his resignation from the position effective immediately.
Winkler will remain on staff at Alexander Central High School as a Physical Education teacher and will also remain in his other coaching roles as Head Track and Field Coach along with being an Assistant Football Coach.
Alexander Central Athletic Director Nathan Robinson commented by saying “I would like to publically thank Jonathan Winkler for serving as our Head Women’s Basketball Coach for the past two seasons and I would like to also thank him for his dedication and leadership to our athletic department here at Alexander Central.”
Robinson also stated that the search process for a new Head Coach would begin immediately.
