Wilkes County Woman Charged With Setting Fire To Home

The Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office has charged a woman with arson and cruelty to animals .

Juanita Dawn Edwards, 41 of Wilkesboro was arrested on August 8th and charged with 2nd-degree arson, breaking and entering, and cruelty to animals. She allegedly set fire to the mobile home of her ex-boyfriend in the Roaring River Community.

Edwards remained in the Wilkes County Jail under $150,000 secured bond as of earlier today.

The cruelty to animals charge was filed due to animals in the dwelling at the time the fire was set according to investigators.
