Wilkes County Substitute Teacher Charged With Misdemeanor Child Abuse

A Wilkes County substitute teacher has been charged after reportedly assaulting a student at North Wilkes Middle School.

Keene Kent Kruckenberg, age 74 of North Wilkesboro, was charged with one count of misdemeanor child abuse on Monday, April 29th, according to information from the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office.

The alleged incident occurred on Wednesday, April 24th.

Kruckenberg is longer employed by Wilkes County Schools according to a spokesperson for the school system.
