A Wilkes County school bus was involved in a crash Thursday afternoon on Red White & Blue Road in Roaring River.
A Wilkes County Schools spokesperson said 25 elementary students and a driver were on school bus #216 at the time of the crash. Wilkes EMS took two students to Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Wilkes Medical Center for observation.
The driver of the vehicle that collided with the bus was seriously injured and airlifted to the Wake Forest University Medical Center. The Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
