A Wilkes County man drowned this past weekend in Tennessee.
The incident was reported in Carter County at Twisting Falls. The victim has been identified as Lucas Seth Anderson, 35, of North Wilkesboro.
Witnesses told deputies that Anderson jumped from the falls on Saturday afternoon and became caught in the undertow, pulling him beneath the falls.
A member of the group Anderson was with was able to retrieve him and started giving him CPR. Emergency crew members arrived on the scene and pronounced Anderson as deceased.
