The Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office has charged a man in connection with the death of a neighbor in Roaring River.
Bert Eugene Lonsway
Lonsway is charged with murder in the death of 63-year old Barry Lee Buckingham. According to the warrant, the murder occurred sometime after November 27th. Buckinham’s body was found in his home by deputies during a wellness check. The victim is reported to have died as the result of blunt force trauma.
Lonsway and Buckingham were acquaintances.
