The body of a woman was found inside a burned camper in the Benham Community of Wilkes County on Saturday.
According to Wilkes County Sheriff Chris Shew the deceased woman was identified as Amanda Sprinkle Brooks, age 44.
Wilkes County Communications Center received a phone call regarding a structure fire on Murray Road. State Road Fire Department and the Austin Fire Department, Pleasant Hill Fire Department, and Wilkes Emergency Medical Services responded.
The Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office and the Wilkes Fire Marshal’s Office continue their investigation.
