Wilkes County Authorities Searching For Suspect…Updated

Law Officers in Wilkes County are searching for a man who allegedly stole guns from a hardware store, then stole a vehicle after showing a gun last week.

Admidray Lecote Price, age 35 of Boomer, has been charged with common law robbery and larceny of a motor vehicle in Wilkesboro felony breaking and entering in North Wilkesboro.

On the evening of Thursday, May 8th, North Wilkesboro Police were dispatched to Church’s Hardware on D Street. It was learned that handguns were missing from a glass case and surveillance video showed a male subject use a large rock to break the front glass, enter the business and take the same rock to the glass gun case.

Early Friday, May 9th, Wilkesboro Police say a male subject thought to be Price entered the Valero convenience store at the intersection of Browns Ford Road and U.S. 421 West in Wilkesboro around 1:45 am. The subject produced a handgun and ordered the clerk to give him the keys to her vehicle. He then sped away in a white 1998 Chevrolet Tracker.

Update: The suspect has been arrested in Tennessee. He has waived extradition and will be transferred to custody in Wilkes County.
