Wilkes County Animal Control Says Two People Bitten By Rabid Fox

Two people were bitten by a rabid fox this week in Wilkes County.

Wilkes County Animal Control says two incidents of a gray fox biting people on the greenway near West Park. The fox was confirmed to have rabies.

On separate occasions, officials said a gray fox attacked two pedestrians who were on the greenway. The fox was apprehended, and both individuals who were bitten have received treatment.
If you observe any wild animal acting erratically, aggressively, unusually tame, or disoriented, do not approach it.
