Boone: Two people were injured including a Watauga County Deputy on Wednesday.
The accident was reported on Highway 421 near Yuma Lane.
The NC Highway Patrol says the Deputy failed to yield the right-of-way while trying to cross the highway. The SUV operated by the Deputy ended up on it’s roof.
Both the officer and the driver of the other vehicle involved were sent to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
No charges have been filed but the investigation is ongoing.
