Marion: The Lady Cougars suffered a frigid night shooting and McDowell cruised to a victory. The Lady Titans led 16-2 after the opening quarter and 23-8 at intermission. AC shot 21.7 percent from the field including 2 of 24 from distance. Khloe Joyner led McDowell (12-4, 2-0) with 20 points. Faith Burch topped the AC scoring with 13 points and 14 rebounds. Meredith Wike managed 11 points and 18 boards. Alexander Central drops to 13-2 overall and 1-1 in Northwestern Conference play.

Noah VanBeurden buried a jumper from 32 feet to give the Cougars a come-from-behind win at the buzzer ! McDowell led 42-30 at the half but Coach Grant Hodges team had the game dead-even after three periods at 55 each. AC made 17 three-pointers including the game-winner. VanBeurden and Jaheim Redmond totaled 18 points each. Koa Mikeal added 12 and Jahmir Miller pitched-in 11. ACHS goes to 10-5 overall and 2-0 in conference action while McDowell falls to 10-6 and 1-1.
