Two Charged With Harboring Registered Sex-Offender In Iredell County

As reported earlier on WACB, a man wanted on multiple outstanding warrants was taken into custody on January 20th by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office. 43-year-old Justin Michael Spradling of Troutman was charged with three counts of registered sex-offender failing to notify law enforcement of address change, registered sex-offender on child premises and five counts of felony probation violation.

On Friday, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office released information that two individuals have been charged with attempting to aid Spradling from being taken into custody. Stephanie Darlene Cruz, 40, of Winding Cedar Drive, Statesville, and Daniel Lee Busque, 48, of North Barkley Road, Statesville have been arrested. Detectives discovered that Cruz and Busque knowingly helped Spradling avoid arrest, despite being aware of his outstanding warrants and his status as a registered sex offender, according to the news release.

Both are charged with felony offenses for assisting in a sex offender’s failure to comply with the law. At the time of her arrest, Cruz was also found to be carrying a concealed handgun. She was charged with misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon and received an $8,000 secured bond. Busque was issued a $5,000 secured bond.
