Two Charged In Alexander County Assault And Stabbing

On Wednesday June 25, at approximately 10:42 AM, Alexander County 911 received a report of an assault at 742 Hill River Rd, Hiddenite. Upon arrival, officers located a victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was transported to Iredell Memorial Hospital and later transported to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center for treatment.

The investigation revealed that the incident stemmed from an altercation involving the victim and two individuals, Eric Brewer and Robert Joll.

Eric Allen Brewer , age 35 of Hiddenite, was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious bodily injury, felony breaking and entering, and misdemeanor assault on a female. Brewer was being held under a $100,000 secured bond, but is currently out on bond. He has a first appearance in District Court on June 30th in Alexander County District Court.

Robert William Joll, age 38 of Stony Point, was charged with misdemanor assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious bodily injury. Joll was being held under a $10,000 secured bond, but is currently out on bond. He has a first appearance in District Court on June 30, 2025.
