The Chief of the Troutman Police Department has resigned along with another officer. Town Manager Ron Wyatt says Police Chief Tina Fleming and Officer Darin Bumgarner submitted their resignations on Wednesday.
Wyatt declined to address the circumstances for both Fleming and Bumgarner resigning but said it would be addressed at a later date according to a report in the STATESVILLE RECORD AND LANDMARK.
Fleming had served as the chief for 15 months while Bumgarner had been with the department less than a year, but Wyatt noted it was Bumgarner’s third stint as a police officer in Troutman.
