Troutman Police Charge Teen With Possession Of Fentanyl

On Saturday, April 27th, at approximately 5:05 pm Toutman Police Officers conducted a traffic stop of a Ford truck occupied by three people for a traffic violation in the 100 block of S. Main Street.

During the stop one of the passengers, Madison Magdalena Santana, 18 of Troutman, threw a backpack out of the vehicle. Officers observed this and upon searching the backpack found 33 blue tablets that tested positive for fentanyl, 2.08 grams of a powdered substance that tested positive for fentanyl, 9.78 ounces of THC wax, and 4.46 ounces of marijuana. Santana admitted to officers that the backpack belonged to her. She was placed under arrest for the charges of felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, felony possession of marijuana, felony possession with intent to sell/deliver a Schedule I controlled substance, felony trafficking opium/heroin by possession and transporting, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

Santana was taken before a magistrate where she was ordered to be held on a $300,000.00 secure bond.
