Troutman Police Arrest Fugitive From Statesville

On Tuesday, May 9th, Troutman Police Department Officers provided assistance to investigators from the Statesville Police Department and the United States Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force in serving arrest warrants for felony narcotics violations on Tavyon Delon Cauthen, 20 of Statesville.

The Fugitive Task Force received information that Cauthen was located at an apartment on Meadows Park Loop in Troutman. Cauthen is also suspected of being involved in other recent violent criminal incidents in Statesville.

During the service of the warrant officers smelled a strong odor of marijuana and obtained a search warrant for the apartment. While searching the apartment officers located a Glock pistol that was reported stolen from Statesville and an amount of marijuana in a bathroom where Cauthen had been located. Troutman officers obtained charges for possession of a stolen firearm and aggravated possession of marijuana.

Cauthen is currently being held in the Iredell County Detention Center on a $20,000 bond.
