An Ashe County man has been arrested after he held-up a convenience store in Boone before leading Officers on a chase that ended in Tennessee.
The suspect is identified as 41-year-old Joey Allen Ponce of Ashe County. He is the lone suspect in a robbery at a convenience store on Highway 321 in Boone.
Reports indicate that Ponce led law enforcement on a chase that ended near Mountain City, Tennessee. Ponce is accused of firing multiple shots and officers. A Johnson County, Tennessee Deputy was struck and is expected to survive.
Ponce is in custody after crashing his vehicle.
