A drug deal gone bad deal led to a shooting that killed an 18-year-old and injured a second person according to a press release today from Troutman Police.
Police Chief Josh Watson says Alexander Hipple of Mooresville died on Nov. 4 after being shot three times in an armed robbery attempt. A 20-year old, Zachary Craig of Charlotte was wounded.
A 17-year old juvenile has been charged and is custody.

The press release indicates that Craig and Hipple agreed to meet two people at a residence in the 200 block of Mills Avenue last Saturday night to sell marijuana. Two people approached the vehicle that Craig and Hipple were in, pointed firearms at them and demanded that they hand over the pot.
Craig and Hipple attempted to flee the scene. Chief Watson says as they were driving away, one suspect opened fire on the vehicle, striking Hipple three times and Craig once.
The Troutman Police Department and North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation officers identified the 17-year-old who has not been identified, as one of the two assailants. He was taken into custody on Tuesday and being held at a juvenile detention center.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact Troutman Police at 704-528-7610.
